South Point Poker Hiring 40 Online Poker Employees for Summerlin, Nevada Headquarters

South Point Poker has officially announced that they are hiring to fill multiple marketing, customer service, regulatory compliance and technology positions for their Summerlin, Nevada headquarters. Chief Operating Officer Lawrence Vaughan stated that the headquarters are not located in Michael Gaughan’s South Point hotel-casino because his company does not view themselves as a casino, but rather as a creative software company, and they want to stay focused exclusively on providing a premier and enjoyable online poker experience.

Las Vegas G2E 2012 Eyes the Virtual I-gaming Poker Marketplace

The Global Gaming Expo, also known as G2E, was held last week appropriately enough in Las Vegas, Nevada. Las Vegas is known as the brick-and-mortar capital of the United States gambling market, but all the talk last week at G2E 2012 was on the virtual world of gambling. As you probably know, Nevada was the first state to legalize online gambling in the form of poker after the United States Department of Justice ruled that each individual state should be allowed to develop their own online gambling destiny in December of last year. Delaware has joined Nevada in offering online gambling, and several states are pushing for that virtual reality as well.

Texas Hold ‘Em Poker on Facebook Contributing to $30 Billion Annual Pot

Out of the many millions of Facebook pages and applications, Facebook is the most “liked”, receiving that distinction a whopping 70 million times. What application beats out all other non-Facebook entities with the most likes on that social networking giant? Zynga’s Texas Hold ‘Em Poker game on Facebook has more than 64 million “likes” and has become a cash cow for Zynga. And as popular as it is, that particular application is but a ripple on the surface of the massive financial ocean that is online gaming revenue.

PokerTrip Enterprises Makes Online Poker History in Nevada – Maybe

Nevada was the first state to pass legislation legalizing online poker in the US since the United States Department of Justice passed that decision-making ability to the state level. Early on after this pro-online poker ruling, Nevada said they would possibly be able to offer actual online play for their residents and travelers in early 2013. However, Delaware recently became the second state to legalize online poker in the US, and Nevada has since been feverishly working toward ensuring they are the first state to shuffle up and deal online, aiming for 2012. To that end, Nevada gave their recommendation for the first online intrastate poker license to a marketing affiliate last week when the Nevada Gaming Control Board recommended approval for PokerTrip Enterprises Inc. of Las Vegas. That company owns marketing contracts with physical poker rooms in Las Vegas, and also operates promotional poker websites ThePokerAtlas.com and AllVegasPoker.com.

Federal Judge Makes Landmark US Poker Ruling

A federal judge in the United States recently made a landmark ruling regarding poker that is sure to pave the way for similar off and online poker judgments nationwide. In December of last year the United States Department of Justice decided to each individual state judicial to decide their online poker destiny. Since then, Delaware and Nevada have both passed online poker legislation, with Delaware allowing for a full slate of online casino wagering. But the judgment by U.S. District Judge Jack Weinstein in New York on August 20 sets a precedent, it makes it easier for other national judges to rule similarly regarding the legality of off and online gambling laws in the US.
