Two of the most popular brands in online gaming are making big news today as word of their successful move from the Cake Poker Network over to the Merge Poker Network gets out.  Both PlayersOnly Poker and Sportsbook.com Poker are in the spotlight.  While rumors of the move have been circulating for months, in this industry, most people have the ‘I’ll believe it when I see it’ approach to such things.  Knowing that negotiations can always take on a new twist at the ninth hour, everyone was waiting on the edge of their seats to see if it actually would happen.  And folks, it did.  The landscape of the online poker industry has been changed over night.

The move of these two popular gaming hot spots is expected to provide a nice traffic boost to the Merge Network, with some estimating the increase to be about four to five times the traffic that it was receiving previously.  Both of these brands have a strong focus on sports betting, hence their poker room offers some nice soft competition and newbie fish swimming in those ponds.  May be a great place for a grinder to build that bankroll up.

The Cake Poker Network spokespeople have indicated that the move is not detrimental to their business and that they have received approximately eight new poker brands over recent months, and the bulk of their traffic is in their flagship poker rooms:  Doyles Room and Carbon Poker.  The Cake Network is excited about expanding existing brands as well as the new additions to their network.  All in all, this looks to be like a winning move for all involved.  The Cake Network reps have indicated that players will still be able to redeem their Gold Chips and Gold Cards after the move.  Should players want to remain in the Cake Poker Network of poker rooms, they should contact customer service.
